Stand Up Paddle board Yoga Teacher Training

For yoga instructors and paddlers ready to deepen their practice on the water

Do I have to be a yoga instructor to take your trainings?
Not always. Some trainings are designed specifically for certified yoga teachers, while others are open to wellness professionals, educators, social workers, and individuals looking to deepen their personal practice. Each course page outlines specific prerequisites.

Are your trainings Yoga Alliance approved?
Yes. RVN Wellness is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). Eligible trainings qualify for continuing education hours for registered yoga teachers. Some trainings may be eligible for continuing education credits through professional bodies such as the BCCSW, BCACC, and other regulatory associations. Participants are responsible for confirming eligibility with their respective governing body.

What qualifications do you have?
Lead trainer Dawn Slykhuis is an experienced E-RYT 500 registered yoga teacher, a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), and a Master’s-level Registered Social Worker (MSW) with experience teaching at the post-secondary level and providing clinical supervision to other therapists and practicum students. Her trainings blend evidence-based mental health knowledge with trauma-informed yoga and nervous system education.

Do you offer financial assistance or payment plans?
We are committed to accessibility. Select trainings may offer payment plans or sliding scale options. Please email dawn at rvnwellness.com to inquire.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Participants receive a certificate of completion for eligible trainings. Programs qualifying for Yoga Alliance continuing education will include documented CE hours.

Can I teach yoga after taking one of your trainings?
These offerings are continuing education and are not a foundational teacher certification. A completed 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is required to teach yoga and is generally necessary to secure professional liability insurance.
