Situated near the serene ocean and Rocky Point Park, RVN Wellness in Port Moody is the perfect setting for children from the Tricities and School District 43 to explore and grow during their school breaks and Pro-D days. Resilient Kids Adventure Camps

During School Breaks – Summer Break, Winter Break, Spring Break

Our Resilient Kids Adventure Camps are a hit among children, offering them a unique and empowering experience. These camps focus on building confidence and independence through engaging and exciting explorations across the Lower Mainland. One of the camp’s key features is allowing children to actively participate in planning their day trips. This approach not only enhances their sense of adventure and discovery but also instills important decision-making skills.

The camp is not studio-based; instead, it embarks from the Moody Centre Skytrain Station, adding an element of real-world exploration. Children have the opportunity to visit a variety of stimulating and scenic locations. Past outings have included:

  • Belcarra Park
  • Lonsdale Quay
  • Stanley Park
  • Lynn Canyon
  • Mundy Park
  • Fort Langley
  • Blodel Conservatory
  • Maplewood Farm
  • And many other adventures that the kids themselves have dreamt up!

This hands-on approach to learning and exploration is what makes our Resilient Kids Adventure Camp our most popular offering. It provides a dynamic environment for children to grow, learn, and enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors.

Note: Registration for the Resilient Kids Camp may be eligible for coverage under extended health benefits when counselling by a Registered Social Worker is included in the plan.

Movement & Mindfulness Camps

During Professional Development Days (Pro-D Days) for School District 43 (SD43) and school breaks.

Our Movement and Mindfulness PD Day Camps are thoughtfully led by an experienced Social Worker and Yoga Instructor, offering a unique blend of activities designed for the holistic development of children. The philosophy underpinning these camps is inspired by Fred Rogers’ belief that “play is the work of children.” We embrace this concept by engaging children in movement and mindfulness activities through playful interactions.

The camps focus on developing key life skills such as resilience, self-reliance, and coping strategies. A special emphasis is placed on integrating movement, mindfulness, and play into every aspect of the camp. This includes a diverse range of intentional activities such as:

  • Yoga: Enhancing physical flexibility and strength.
  • Meditation: Fostering inner peace and focus.
  • Journaling: Encouraging self-expression and emotional processing.
  • Art: Nurturing creativity and self-expression.
  • Nature Activities: Connecting with the environment and learning from the natural world.
  • Social Connection: Building friendships and developing social skills.

Our curriculum is designed not just for fun and engagement but also to instill a deep sense of mindfulness and awareness in children. Through these activities, children learn to appreciate the present moment, understand their emotions, and interact positively with their peers and surroundings.

The Movement & Mindfulness PD Day Camps offer a supportive and nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and grow in a holistic manner, laying a foundation for a balanced and mindful life.

Our Approach & Principles

1. Body Autonomy: We emphasize the importance of body autonomy. No child is forced to participate in any activity that doesn’t feel good in their body. We teach children to safely say “no.”

2. Body Awareness: Our programs focus on developing a keen sense of body awareness.

3. Social/Emotional Learning: We incorporate social and emotional learning in all activities.

4. Inclusivity and Accessibility: We ensure that our programs are inclusive and accessible to all children.

5. Lila (Divine Play): Lila, or divine play, is a key element in our approach, fostering resilience and joy.

6. Anti-Bullying Policy: We maintain a strict anti-bullying policy to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.

7. Open to All Abilities: Children of all abilities are welcome. There is no requirement for prior experience in any of our camps.

8. Participation: Children are invited to come as they are and participate in a way that feels comfortable to them.
